WCCM ECCOMAS 2026

Organization

The WCCM-APCOM 2028 be hosted by a local organizing committee supported by Korean Society for Computational Mechanics (KSCM) which was established in 2010 and has been a member organization of IACM and APACM. The Korean Society for Computational Mechanics (KSCM) is a gathering of South Korea’s best experts in computational mechanics across fields such as civil engineering, mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, and applied mathematics.

Supporting Organizations

IACM

International Association for Computational Mechanics

The International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM) was founded to stimulate and promote education, research and practice in computational mechanics, to foster the interchange of ideas among the various fields contributing to this science, and to provide forums and meetings for the dissemination of knowledge.

APACM

Asian Pacific Association for Computational Mechanics (APACM)

The International Association for Computational Mechanics (IACM) was founded to promote advances in computational mechanics. For the purposes of the Association, the subject of computational mechanics was defined as the development and application of numerical methods and digital computers to the solution of problems posed by engineering and applied science with the objectives of understanding and harnessing the resources of nature. IACM was formally established and the General and Executive Councils were confirmed. The Constitution gives equal emphasis to the three geographical regions of Europe-Middle East-Africa, the Americas, and Asia-Australia. The European and American Regions established their Associations earlier. In order to be in line with them, the Asian Pacific Region founded in the end of 1999, APACM.

KSME

the Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME)

The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers was founded on September 5, 1945, just after Korea’s liberation. Initially called “Chosun Mechanical Technology Association,” it was given its current name of “The Korean Society of Mechanical Engineers (KSME)" in October 1928. It is the oldest and best academic society with 27,000 members, and it has contributed to the academic development of mechanical engineering in Korea.
